Dewatering

In order to temporarily or permanently drain an excavation pit, sometimes extremely large quantities of groundwater and rainwater have to be removed (see also groundwater lowering). Particularly powerful pump systems are used for this type of dewatering, but also for the drainage of mining and pit water in tunnelling and underground construction and, above all, in the event of flooding and comparable disasters.
